NEWS
Welcome to Week 4! It's amazing how quickly the school year is moving along, and it's great to see how much students have accomplished already. As we continue building on what we've learned, students are becoming more independent, engaged, and eager to take on new learning experiences. I'm looking forward to another great week together!
The district's annual emergency release drill is this Friday (Oct. 2). Hackett will dismiss at 2:45 p.m. Additional information about the state-required dismissal can be found here.
Our 21st Century after-school programming begins Monday, Oct. 5. It's free, runs Monday-Thursday and snack and transportation home (bus departs Hackett at 5 p.m.) are included but pre-registration is required. Use to sign up your student. Please note, if your child requires bussing beginning Monday, the transportation paperwork (found within the Google Form linked above) must be returned tomorrow (Wednesday, Sept 30) to Hackett site coordinator Darien Lewis ().
Update from the PTA: Hackett's PTA is looking for parents, guardians, families and school community members who want to make a difference at our school. Every contribution makes a difference. We hope you’ll consider joining the PTA or volunteering for a committee this school year! Together, we can make a difference for our students and strengthen our school community.
- Become a member! Whether you have a little time or a lot, your participation matters. PTA members help support school programs, student activities, family events, and initiatives that strengthen our school community. Fill out this with your contact information and register ($6) via this
- Joining a committee is a great way to contribute your ideas, skills and time without requiring a major time commitment. Sign up for PTA membership.
- Events Committee: help plan fun and engaging school and family events
- Fundraising Committee: help develop creative ways to support PTA programs and activities
- Budget Committee: help support thoughtful planning and responsible use of PTA resources
- Nominating Committee: help us grow our PTA and connect with more families
All students should have received their student ID cards and should be wearing them around their necks during the school day. Any student who has not received an ID should inform their homeroom teacher. Replacement cards, due to loss or theft, carry a $5 replacement fee.
Please keep our school community safe by being mindful of school buses and school zone speed limits as both carry fines as much as $300 for stop-arm violations and $50 for speed violations. For more information on stop-arm cameras on First Student buses, visit our website. You can learn more about school zone cameras via this link.
