Albany County's Department for Children, Youth and Families recognized William S. Hackett Middle School's Harmony Horton at an annual ceremony and celebration on Thursday.
The 22nd annual Youth Recognition Awards are an exciting initiative that acknowledges middle and high school students who have overcome adversity, shown tremendous resiliency and growth, athletic achievement, artistic expression or demonstrated their citizenship and civic engagement through community service.
Horton, an eighth grader, received the George Roe Athletic certificate for outstanding dedication and sportsmanship and was nominated by Hackett Principal Mike Paolino, who also attended the ceremony. She plays volleyball, basketball and softball for the City School District of Albany as well as basketball and softball for local club and travel teams.
The dinner and reception was held on June 10. Congratulations Harmony - keep up the GREAT work!
