Rebuilding Albany High School

Investing in our students. Investing in our community. Investing in our future.

The City School District of Albany celebrated completion of the final phase of the transformative project to build the Capital Region's pre-eminent high school facilities with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at Albany High School on Aug. 26, 2025. The event included opportunities for tours of the high school to check out all of the amazing new spaces created over the seven years of construction.

Construction began in 2018 on the $188.9 million project, which added nearly 200,000 square feet of new facilities and completely renovated the previous 378,000-square-foot complex. A key feature of the project was relocating all Career and Technical Education courses onto the main campus from the former Abrookin Career and Technical Center 2 1/2 blocks away.

We are deeply appreciate to everyone in our community who supported this incredible project, from the earliest stages of planning through completion! Thank you, Albany!!
