Unified bocce soars to victory

Albany High student-athlete throwing a bocce ball as teammates look on

Our Albany High unified bocce team soared to an outstanding 7-2 win over Guilderland in their match at the Italian American ·¬ÇÑÉçÇø Center on Wednesday evening!

We are proud of each of our 18 student-athletes on the team, and it was amazing to see their determination, focus and enthusiasm throughout last night's matches.

Our Falcons (3-1) have had a great season thus far, including a thrilling win over Monhonasen on Sept. 24 when our students scored three full cannolis — scoring with all four bocce balls being thrown in a single frame!

The unified bocce team is coed and made up of students from grades 9-12. Unified sports are Special Olympics programs that combine athletes with and without disabilities on sports teams for training and competition.

Come see our Falcons in action in their next home competition at the Italian American ·¬ÇÑÉçÇø Center on Wednesday, Oct. 15 at 4 p.m.

Let's go Falcons!
