Help keep Albany students warm this winter! The 2026 Cash for Coats drive is officially underway, raising funds to provide new winter coats and accessories to local children in need across the City School District of Albany.
Coordinated by the office of Albany Mayor Dr. Dorcey Applyrs, this annual initiative was launched Wednesday morning at a City Hall rotunda news conference featuring the mayor, Superintendent Joseph Hochreiter, and key community sponsors.
Now in its 19th year, Cash for Coats has provided more than 18,000 new coats along with tens of thousands of hats, gloves, and mittens to local kids. Every dollar donated goes directly toward purchasing cold-weather wear.
