, which was submitted by a Stephen and Harriet Myers Middle School artist, depicts a Karner Blue butterfly, Albany's skyline and patriotic themed text.
, which was submitted by a Pine Hills Elementary School artist, depicts an eagle perched on a branch with text designed to look like clouds.
The two district-designed creations are part of a friendly that aims to inspire youth participation in, and excitement about, the democratic process. The winning art will be made into an I Voted sticker that Albany County Board of Election employees will distribute at the polls.
The contest was open to all kindergarten-grade 12 students in Albany County and the work of City School District of Albany students rose to the top and were chosen as two of the four finalists.
Public voting ends on Monday, Aug. 31 and the winner will be announced in October. Good luck, and congratulations, to both of our talented students!
