District students are embracing summer learning at the , which is being hosted for the first time at Pine Hills Elementary School!
This year's theme is "making waves" and it has been exciting to welcome 175 students in kindergarten through grade 12 as they dive into learning together.
ESY is a six-week program that runs July 6 through Aug. 14 and serves students with a wide range of special needs. Each day, students participate in small-group instruction focused on English language arts and math while also receiving the individualized related services they need, including occupational therapy, physical therapy, speech-language therapy and social work services.
Additionally, students also enjoy art therapy, music therapy, Special Olympics and 15-Love Tennis as part of the program!
We are immensely grateful to ESY Coordinators, Kelly Hayes and Catherine Shanahan, as well as our dedicated teachers, teaching assistants, therapists and support staff who collaborate every day to create a safe, engaging and supportive learning environment.
The weeks ahead hold an ocean of possibilities in the classroom, and we look forward to seeing our students thrive as they learn and grow together!
