District students in grades 4-12 are enjoying four weeks of creative educational activities at this year’s hosted at Albany High!
Thanks to the guidance and expertise of district educators, students are experiencing the joy of working both individually and collaboratively to strengthen foundational skills, learn new techniques and build confidence in the disciplines of art, band, strings, dance and theater.
Through dynamic lessons and entertaining exercises, students are unleashing their ingenuity and building friendships with peers who have a shared interest in the arts. This year's program kicked off on July 6 and will run through July 31, and it has been delightful to see students engage in artistic expression together in a fun and relaxed environment.
To see a showcase of our students’ talents, we invite you to join us for “The Last Rehearsal,” a live production presented by our Summer Arts Program theater students! The show will take place in the Albany High auditorium on Thursday, July 30, at 6:30 p.m. Additionally, our Summer Arts Program art show will be on display that evening in the foyer, so come early to enjoy the incredible pieces created by our young artists.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Fine Arts Supervisor Kate Wright and our district teachers Jennifer Tayne, Cathy Richers, Donna Mannarino, Anthony Berman, Zachary Parker, Cameron Newman, Susan Wheeler, Chelsea Dorner, Brian Avery and Graham Wall who are facilitating this amazing program!
Also, we thank hall monitors Nakia Cancer and Cynthia Cooper for helping our students feel welcome and supported as they have explored the world of art together.
