We’re thrilled to announce that the City School District of Albany has been awarded $10.1 million grant through . New York State Energy Research and Development Authority officials and several elected leaders came to TOAST on Monday morning to share the great news.

This significant funding will directly support essential energy efficiency improvements at three of our schools: TOAST, Albany International Academy and Giffen Memorial Elementary School. The grant also will support the district's share of our proposed $98 million facilities project, which would have no additional impact on taxes if voters approve it on May 19. We extend our sincere gratitude to Governor Kathy Hochul for her leadership in championing initiatives that bridge the gap between sustainability and education.

Regarding this milestone, Superintendent Joseph Hochreiter stated:
“This investment from New York State is a partnership—one that recognizes that when government and schools work together, we can accelerate progress in ways that benefit entire communities.”
