This week is American Education Week, a national celebration of the teachers, support staff and school leaders in our public schools who work tirelessly to serve students and families.

“This week, we celebrate every City School District of Albany employee who inspires, uplifts and transforms our students’ lives,” said Superintendent Joseph Hochreiter. “Virtually every member of our team makes a difference for students every day.”

Public schools open their doors to all students, welcoming children of every background, ability and income.

“That inclusivity is the heartbeat of our mission,” Hochreiter said.

American Education Week is a perfect opportunity to honor that mission and to recognize the critically important role our district plays in shaping our city’s future.
