NO SCHOOL FRIDAY: Parent-teacher conferences/staff development
have been selected to participate in the Area All-State Music Festival of the New York State Music Association (NYSSMA) this November!
Area All-State Concerts feature exceptionally talented music students from high schools throughout the Capital Region performing in band, chorus, jazz band or orchestra. Students are selected from nine area counties based on scores they received at NYSSMA auditions last spring.
Performing at the Area All-State Concert, to be held at Proctors Theatre at 2 p.m. on Nov. 22, will be:
Mixed Chorus students and their parts:
- Margaret Ardrey, junior, soprano
- Celine Casasola, junior, alto
- Anna Ustin, senior, alto
Symphonic Band students and their instruments:
- Eli Stanwicks, sophomore, baritone/euphonium
- Cameron Volk, senior, flute
Symphony Orchestra student and his instrument:
- Aidan Carlson, senior, cello
Congratulations to each of these dedicated students for this outstanding accomplishment. We also commend guiding teachers Brendan Hoffman, John Halvorsen and Anthony Berman for creating instructional environments that cultivate a passion for music that spurs students to mastery in vocal and instrumental performance!
